Service Station Bingo helps users discover, visit, review and collect motorway service stations. This policy explains what information the app processes and why.
Information we collect
Account information
You can initially use the app as a guest. If you choose Sign in with Apple, we may receive an Apple account identifier and, where Apple provides them, your name and email address. Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your personal email address.
Location information
The app requests access to your location while you use it. Location is used to show nearby service stations, confirm that you are physically close enough to check in, help prevent drive-by or fraudulent check-ins, and support location-based community reports and votes.
Location access is not required when the app is closed. We do not sell precise-location information.
Activity and user-generated content
We may store service-station visits and check-ins, favourites and collection progress, ratings and reviews, suggested service-station additions or corrections, reports about facilities, shops, food outlets and fuel brands, and community verification votes.
Reviews, reports and suggestions may be visible to other users after moderation. Account identifiers are not intended to be displayed publicly.
Technical information
We may process basic technical information needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service, including authentication records, timestamps and error information.
How we use information
We use information to provide the app, maintain user collections, verify legitimate visits, display nearby service stations and facilities, improve the accuracy of community-submitted information, prevent abuse, investigate technical problems and maintain account security.
Service providers
We use Supabase for authentication, database hosting and backend services. We use Apple for Sign in with Apple, location services and map functionality. These providers process information according to their own privacy terms and our service configuration.
Advertising and sponsored locations
The app may display clearly labelled sponsored or promoted service stations. We do not currently sell personal information to advertisers. If advertising practices materially change, this policy will be updated.
Data retention
We retain account and activity information while an account remains active or while reasonably required to provide and secure the service. Users can request deletion from within the app. Deleting an account permanently removes the account and associated user data, subject to limited legal or security retention requirements.
Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account inside the Service Station Bingo app. Open Profile, scroll to Your Data, select Delete account, and confirm Delete permanently.
This deletes your profile, visits, favourites, reviews, check-in records, missing-station reports, suggested updates and associated account information. This action cannot be undone.
If you cannot access the app, contact support@servicestationbingo.co.uk from the email associated with your account to request deletion. Residual encrypted backup copies expire according to our service provider’s backup schedule and are not used except for disaster recovery or where retention is legally required.
Your choices and rights
You can change location permission through iOS Settings, export a copy of your app data, delete your account from within the app, and contact us about access, correction or deletion requests. Depending on where you live, including under UK data-protection law, you may have additional rights concerning your personal information.
Children
Service Station Bingo is not intended to collect personal information knowingly from children below the applicable minimum age for online services.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app develops. The current version and its revision date will remain available on this page.
