User guide
For step-by-step instructions on creating workouts, logging sessions, using coaches and clubs, managing exercises and troubleshooting sync, read the To The Bar app user guide.
Accounts and email confirmation
Create your account in the app using a valid email address. If you do not receive the confirmation email, check your junk or spam folder, confirm the email address was typed correctly and try again.
Signing in and password resets
If you forget your password, use the password reset option from the sign-in screen. Follow the email link on the same device where possible, then return to the app and sign in again.
Authenticator-app MFA
If you enable authenticator-app multi-factor authentication, keep the authenticator entry until you have disabled MFA inside the app. Do not remove the authenticator entry first, because you may lock yourself out of the account.
Training sessions
You can create, move and delete training sessions from the planner. Use the session tools to log exercises, sets, reps, weights, times, distances, PBs and comments.
Offline logging and sync
The app can store workout data locally so you can keep logging while offline. When you reconnect, leave the app open briefly and allow automatic sync to complete.
Coaches and clubs
You can join a coach or club using the PIN provided by that coach or club. Only join relationships you recognise and trust, because relevant training data may be shared with that coach or club.
Gyms, equipment and exercise availability
Use gym profiles to record available equipment and exercise availability. This helps planning stay realistic for the place you train.
TrainHeroic CSV imports
TrainHeroic CSV imports can be used to bring workout history and personal bests into the app. Check imported data after the import completes and contact support if anything looks wrong.
Using Apple Health for active calories
To connect Apple Health:
- Open More > Account in To The Bar.
- Find Active calories.
- Select Connect Apple Health.
- Approve access to Active Energy.
- Start and complete a To The Bar training session normally.
After the session is completed, To The Bar checks Apple Health for active energy recorded during that session’s start-to-finish window.
Results are labelled as:
- Apple Health – active energy was available from Apple Health.
- Estimated – Apple Health had no result, so To The Bar used the body weight and active session duration saved in Account.
Apple Watch data can occasionally take a short time to sync. If calories do not appear immediately, open the completed session summary and select Refresh from Apple Health.
If results still do not appear:
- Check that Apple Health access is enabled for To The Bar.
- Confirm that the Apple Watch has synced with the iPhone.
- Confirm that active-energy information exists in the Health app for the session time.
- Add body weight under Account > Active calories if an estimated fallback is required.
Calorie figures are provided for general fitness information only and should not be treated as medical advice or as a clinically accurate measurement.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app from Account > Delete account. This permanently removes your login and associated training data. For more detail, see Delete Your To The Bar Training Account.
Troubleshooting
If something does not look right, update the app, check your internet connection, restart the app, allow sync to run again, then contact support if the issue continues.
Fitness and medical note
To The Bar Training is a fitness planning and logging tool. It is not medical advice. If you are unsure whether training is suitable for you, speak to a qualified professional.
